 Kolka is one years old today like her siblings in Finland. She is very happy about it like you can see in this photo :) It is taken while driving - one of Kolka's favorite thing is to stick her head out of the car window, get the wind in her face and smell the enviroment.

 Unfortunatly we haven't had the time to write or put new images here on Kolkas site for a while. Dagbjört was finishing her final BA project in Information Science and Bjarni was setting up a design firm called Nothing.
Kolka is well. She started her first heat 5 weeks ago - right after her 10 months birthday.
And then we have more exciting news about Kolka. The dogtrainer we went to for the obediance classes contacted us. She is well known in Iceland for training dogs and other animals for movies, theater and commercials. People from Germany were coming to Iceland to shoot a commercial for an insurance company and were looking for a very cute dog to take part in it. The trainer thougt of Kolka beacause she thinks Kolka is very cute and has beatuiful movements. She took some pictures of Kolka and sent them to Germany along with pictures of other dogs. At the end they chose Kolka for the part! :) The shoot was last thursday and was in "Snæfellsnes" wich is in the west part of Iceland. It all went very well and she had a good time. We got to see a rough edit of it and it looks good. The stills you see are from it.

Mirva and Jari in Finland, who own two of Kolka's litter brothers, sent us great pictures of them in action. We also got pictures from our breeder Ana of Kolka's sister Bono and their mother Nami. See them and new pictures of Kolka under „Pictures“.

We first saw a PON when we were living in England and fell instantly in love with the breed. Since then we have spent a lot of time getting to know the breed mostly trough books. We have been in a good contact with breeders around the world that we trust and have learned a lot from them as well. So we have been preparing ourselves for two years.
Now the time has come and we just got a confirmation that the very first PON in Iceland will be arriving from Finland in the beginning of december. The puppy is a girl from the breeder Ana Tikkanen ((Zalotnican kennel) who lives in Finland. We have already named the puppy Kolka which is a strong, Icelandic name and we found out that Kolka is a name of a beautiful peninsula in Latvia which is in the middle of Poland and Finland.
Kolka was born on the 5th of june and has to be 5 months of age before we can import her to Iceland. When she arrives to Iceland she has to remain in an isolation facility for 4 weeks before she can come home and live with us and by that time she will have reached the age of 6 months.
We are obviousily over the moon.
