What a weekend! Kolka took part in her second international dog show (over 800 dogs and 83 breeds took part) this weekend - for the first time as and adult. We were very happy to know that Tomasz Borkowski a polish judge would be judging her. Kolka did very well in the ring and moved beautifully and didn´t jump at all. Kolka got BOB (of course) and got her first CACIB and a very good judging: "Nice typical compact with big head + pose (nose?). Nice topline. Excellent coat. Nice in movements. Elegant, friendly with good pigmentations. Strong bones." At this point we were so happy and thougth that things couldn´t go any better, how wrong we were. Harry Alexander Tast from Finland was judging group 1 where eight beautiful breeds were in the finals (one of them PON ;) and Harry Alexander Tast placed Kolka in the third place!!! The German Shepherd who won group 1 was later BOS. We are these days just bursting of joy. Kolka in group 1 finals line up. Left is Australian Shepherd and to the right distant relative, Puli. Harry Tast from Finland judging Kolka in group 1 finals. Third place in group 1! Here is Bjarni adjusting Kolka for the photographer.

Nú er undirbúningur fyrir alþjóðlegu haustsýningu HRFÍ kominn á fullt. Við förum núna með Kolku í sýningarþjálfun tvisvar í viku - á sunnudögum hjá ungliðadeildinni og svo á þriðjudögum hjá úrvals- og Schnauzer HRFÍ. Vorum í þriðja skiptið í kvöld og sjáum við miklar framfarir í hverri viku. Hún ætti því vonandi að verða orðinn nokkuð góð í þessu þegar kemur að sýningunni í Víðidal 6. og 7. október.

Here is the tv-ad Kolka played in last spring. These are two so called weather shorts for Union Investment and are shown before the weatherforcast on the news in Germany.
When you look into Union Investment website there is now a photo of Kolka as well.

We went to Snæfellsnes last weekend and Kolka had a really good time. She got to run free in the beatuful nature, she went up a mountain hill, into a walley and got to play in the shore by the sea. Kolka enjoyed this to the extreme. She got to see lot of birds, horses and sheeps and barked alot to let us know. She had a good company because Ynja, her best friend (Basenji) was there to play with her. Kolka swam for the very first time in the ocean, twice for a few seconds and she loved it... she smiled alot and shaked herself and always wanted to go into the water again. We have put some pictures from the trip on the picture section on the left.

We went camping with Kolka about two weeks ago to the north part of Iceland. The weather was really good and we all had a good time. We even went to a whale watching trip on a boat from Húsavík and Kolka got to go with us. Kolka is probably the very first PON to go on such an adventure. We got to see three types of whales; Hunchback, Mink whale and even a Blue whale which is believied to be the largest animal to ever have lived (even bigger than the dinasaurs). The whales jumped and dived very close to the boat. Kolka was a bit insecure for the first five minutes or so and stayed very close to us. After that she went back to her old self and was very happy looking and was curious about her surroundings. This was a pretty big boat and the passengers were very fond of her. We were very proud of her, at least she got a good training in balance (she was even better than we were) and enviroment sounds (the sound of the boat enginee). We got to see a wonderful scenery and landscape in this trip and Kolka loved every minute and ran and jumped all over the place and smiled alot with her whole face as PONs tend to do :) We have put some pictures in the picture section here on the left.
