This has been a very eventful year for us. Kolka participated and competed in agility. She also finished two courses in obedience (I & II) and passed with very good scores. This summer we trained with Search & Rescue dogs of Iceland.
The family grew bigger this year when we had a baby boy who was christened Helgi two weeks ago. Kolka accepted him with calm curiosity.
We wish you a very merry christmas and happy new year.
Bjarni, Dagbjört, Helgi and Kolka.

Kolka is now an Icelandic Champion. Today we got a verification of that - a document and a rosette - from the Icelandic Kennel Club.

Agnes Kertes Ganami, Kolka and Bjarni. Icelandic Kennels Clubs autumn show was this weekend and we participated as usual. Kolka did well, was BOB with CAC and CACIB and then she was third best in group one after Australian Shepherd (first place) and German Shepherd (second place). We can now apply for Icelandic Champion title and Kolka only needs one CACIB for the International Champion title.
Judge was Agnes Kertes Ganami and she gave Kolka this review:
Good quality bitch. Excellent outline. Good head + body proportion. Correct length of body. Breed typical. Good in texture + coat. Good tail carrige. Excellent mover with long steps. Excellent. Preperations for this autumn show was extensive. We went to the World Dog Show in Sweden last summer to get a better perception of how the breed is shown and groomed and then we took a course in handling with Marc Linnér who is a renowned handler. Marc showed us the basics in good handling which was extremely useful. At the Marc Linnér handling course.

Christina, Kolka and Saami. Last summer Christina and Saami, PON owners and breeders from Finland, where here in Iceland on a short vacation. Of course we invited them to meet Kolka since she is the first and only PON in the North Atlantic Ocean. It's always fun to meet other PON owners and learn more about the breed - Christina and Saami are very experienced and know alot about the PON. We thank theim for a fun and informative meet-up. Here is their website. Let's hope that more PON owners wash up on our shores here in Iceland in the near future.
We have added a new feature here in the News section - now you can write comments and thoughts to each news item.
