Welcome to our new website

We have been rather busy putting up the new homepage so there hasn´t been much time to post news of Kolka lately. That will hopefully change now since this site is set up in a comfortable content management system where we can update it quickly and easely. The old site was handmade in html and therefor boring and slow to update.

Many things have been going on.

Kolka passed the herding test and we are of course happy about that. The Herding Club plans to have a joined training sessions in the near future to keep on developing and training our dogs with their herding nature. That will hopefully be next spring or summer.

We came across pictures and text about the clicker training course we went to last summer with Kolka. The trainer, Monika is a breeder of the Icelandic Sheepdog. Here is the site. The first half of the page is in Icelandic but the second half is in English. She wrote for example about Kolka:
"This is such a cute dog with a happy character, she just makes you smile when she is learning because she always gets this huge grin on her face." See here .

We are very fond of clicker training and so is Kolka like you can see in the photos.
Here is a video of one of Monika´s dog helping with the laundry and of course she is using clicker training

Health

Kolka had her eyes checked out by Finn Bøserup a specialist from Denmark and her eyes are healthy. Kolka was also checked out for TSH and T4 and the resaults were good: "Thyroxine and TSH concentrations are within normal range. Hypothyroidism is unlikely." Last but not least we got results from her hip x-rays and the resaults were A/A.
